"Grace moreover, sits on the throne because it has established itself thereby right. There is no injustice in the grace of GOD. GOD is as just when he forgives a believer as when he casts a sinner into hell. I believe in my own soul that there is as much and as pure a justice in the acceptance of a soul who believes in CHRIST as there will be in the rejection of those souls who die impenitent and are banished from JEHOVAH's presence. The sacrifice of CHRIST has enabled GOD to "be just, and [also] the justifier of him which believeth in JESUS" (Romans 3:26). He who knows the word substitution and can give its right meaning will see that there is nothing due to punitive justice from any believer, seeing that JESUS CHRIST has paid all the believer's debts. Now GOD would be unjust if HE did not save those for whom CHRIST vicariously suffered, for whom HIS righteousness was provided, and to whom it is imputed. Grace is on the throne by conquest, and it sits there by right."
This is taken from the book I am reading. "The power in Prayer" by Spurgeon. I was just so taken back by the truth laid in this small paragraph that I had to post it. Hope you love it as much as I have.
"If God does not save men by truth, he certainly will not save them by lies. And if the old gospel is not competent to work a revival, then we will do without the revival."
I have been e-mailing Todd Friel from Way of the Master Radio about how my Sunday school teacher wanted to play Rob Bell's DVDs as lessons. He sent me a link that I thought was very good and worth noting. Let Us Reason Ministries I hope this helps, but I hope you never have to deal with it in your home church.
"We have an unchanging gospel, which is not today green grass and tomorrow dry hay;but always the abiding truth of the immutable Jehovah."
I have run into a battle with the emergent in my church. Sad I know. Why is it every few years or so someone thinks "I got a better Gospel!" I am beginning to hate the word "relevant". I have read enough on relevancy to last a life time and still I come back to the words Isaiah wrote:
"The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever."
How can you deconstruct that and reconstruct it to make it more "relevant" to today's postmodern world? This world will pass away but GOD's word will be FOREVER! You want relevancy….
You have to face a Holy God on Judgment Day.
He sees lust as adultery (Matt. 5:28)
and hatred as murder (1 John 3:15).
Will you be guilty?
Jesus took your punishment on the cross,
and rose again defeating death,
to save you from Hell.
Repent (Luke 13:5) and trust in Him today.
Well, not much is going on…Work last night was boring as normal. Here’s a gross story for ya…. My roomate has this cat she got from a good friend of ours and it is having trouble adjusting to the new home and with the other cat that she owns. So like it is throwing up everywhere. That is not the gross part.. 🙂 I got up about 20 minutes ago and head to the bathroom ( you know like you normally do when you first get up) and like step in this wet slippery stuff..YUCK!…yeah you guess it. She up chuck right there in the door way. Gross. I wonder if I will ever be a good dad if I can’t stand dealing with pet problems. 😦 Oh well…
I was reading “Morning by morning” by C.H. Spurgeon.( a devotional book) awhile ago. I try to read it everyday but sometimes get behind. I was reading Jan 8 day ( because I thought yesterday when I woke up it was the 9 already oops I was wrong) and like he was making a point that struck me dumb founded. He said that even our pursuit to GOD in our life has iniquity(sin). See in the Old Testiment in Exodus 28:38 “Aaron had the bear the iniquity of the holy things which the sons of Isreal consecrated that they may be accepted before the LORD.” Of coarse JESUS took that place and bears our sins so that we can be accepted to our LORD but not just sins that we do to remove ourselfs from GOD but the sins we have when we try to go to GOD. Even more reasons to look to the cross with awe because there is NO holiness in us apart from JESUS. Without HIM we are truly nothing. Well, I will end here on my long windiness ( is this a word?) and say goodbye. Need to work on the web site more before I head out to the Jobs… Later
